Mayors Taskforce For Jobs

Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs supports young people nationwide by opening pathways into employment and helping them build strong foundations for their future. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development through the Community Employment Programme, it supports young people who are not in Education, employment, or training, and others facing barriers to work. Key initiatives include youth employment support and the Tuia programme, which mentors young Māori leaders through partnerships with local mayors, leadership wānanga, and community service projects to build skills, confidence, and employability.
